Perfect Blog Post

Good Morning Bloggers!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Christmas? Nope. Valentine’s Day? Not even close!

It’s that time of year where tall, thin models walk the streets of New York City in beautiful clothing. That’s right. You guessed it. It’s New York Fashion Week!

This is to be a Fashion Week of great meaning, for those who seek meaning in these sorts of things. Being the last Fashion Week to ever be held at Bryant Park may bring on a touch of nostalgia. Additionally, in case you hadn’t heard, the recession is over – or it’s about to be. Hence, this coming NY Fashion Week – a showcase of the collections that will mark the start of a new prosperous era this Fall/Winter 2010 – is aimed at actual consumption.
After a season of black and a season of beige, it is high time to get back to the business of selling the world beautiful clothes. I want to see color. Bright color, florals, etc. I, for one, want to see excess. I want to see big under the tent this season.
But will the designers deliver? Or will they send cautious things down the runway: sure-fire, uninspired dresses (AKA “basics”) in collections that will just sell?

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2010 began Thursday. Fashion Week has set the tone for the fall 2010 season in just the last five days.

Military-inspired fashions will be popular this upcoming fall. Awesome designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais seemed to base their collection in silhouettes and men outerwear. Their military-inspired look was very beautiful! Don't you think? All of the models had their hair twisted into buns so high that they were almost touching their foreheads! It looked really cool!

This year, fur was seen all over the runway in the past several days. My favorite fur clothing shown at this year’s fashion week so far is definitely Thakoon. I just have to have that cream colored hood.

Some of my favorite designs are (so far) of Fall Fashion Week 2010. Prabal Gurung showed some really interesting and beautiful looks on the runway Saturday. One of my favorites is this block colored, dress. His runway was A-MA-ZING! I can’t wait to see what he comes up with next!

Bring it on, New York. I’m ready.

Comparison between Mouse and Night

The difference that stands out the most for me in these books are that, in Night, Elie focuses more on the religious part, such as God and the creation of earth. It shows a bigger meaning on life and it shows a more detailed time in Auschwitz. It also shows the "humanity" that the Germans had over the Jews.

In Mouse, it answers thoroughly the question "Why?” it shows it in away such as using animals as characters, because it also happens in the animal kingdom. It makes you realize that the story will be passed on through generations, and the story will live forever.

Night: THE END

This quote illustrates the impact that the holocaust affected many human beings, who unfortunately had to live through this. The holocaust not only murdered many physical human bodies, but what is worst, the holocaust murdered many souls.

When I finished the book, I realized that this not only affected the past, but has affected the present and I believe that it will affect the future.

While meditating about Night, I got to my own conclusion of why the book is named Night, the Bible begins with the creation of earth. God’s first thing to do is to create light. In the book, darkness and night symbolizes a world without God`s presence. As it is evident throughout the book, all the suffering and when Elie starts doubting God, it all happened at night.

This book was the one that caused the most impression in me because it is different than other books. It is narrated as an autobiography, not another story to tell. I am going to leave you with the same question as before,

WHY?

Night: pages 70-92

Now this part was nerve-racking, I couldn’t stop reading! I have read and have seen so many things about the Holocaust but, I am never tired in learning about it, don’t ask me why.

In some way, this story is different. I think it is because it involves God in many aspects. At first, you see him like someone that would protect you and that He will always be with you, but later on in the story, God converts in someone that has betrayed you. Elie prays to him because he needs something to hold on to, but he doesn’t believe in him, he is just doing it to feel safe, even though he isn’t.

I think that I visualize this story different than others because I got this amazing opportunity to go to the Holocaust Museum, as I said before, and I actually got to saw the blocks they were staying, the warehouses, their clothes, their shoes, the medical instruments that they used to "select" them. I got the opportunity to see this; all of those have become a reality to me. I just want to end this blog post with one question, WHY?

Night: pages 45-70

Wow! So much has happened in so few pages! I am still wondering, would I risk my life for some soup? Would I have been that desperate? Or would I have the guts to stay and see if I deserve to lose everything that I have worked for, for just one sip of soup? I guess I can`t judge cause I don’t know how I would react if I am ever placed in that situation, God forbid.

When it got to the part when Elie started to doubt God, I just can`t imagine how desperate he was that made him doubt God and question him like the way he did. So I asked myself the same question that I have asked throughout the book, how would I react? How would WE react?

When I finished reading, I started wondering, how did Hitler`s mind worked? Was he a psychopath? I started remembering when I went to Washington, the moment I entered the walls of the Holocaust Museum, the deep sadness that entered my body and it was the first time I knew that it actually happened. I entered an exhibition called "Danny`s Story" and what shocked me most was that this little kid`s life, changed radically from one day to another, with no time to process it.
